Who We Are:
Prairie Vista Elementary School is an “A” rated K-5 elementary school part of the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation, where excellence in education is pursued and achieved at all levels. We are a community. Our students feel supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.

We are the Pumas and our colors are red and black. Prairie Vista Elementary School educates today’s child for tomorrow’s world by offering each student opportunities to achieve maximum potential for the future by developing self-directed and self-motivated individuals. Our motto is Educating today’s child for tomorrow’s world, part of what makes that possible is by having, quite literally, some of the best teachers in the country!
Our staff of compassionate and engaged teachers receive ongoing professional development in everything from the IDOE state standards to utilizing social emotional learning and restorative practices in the classrooms.
We are a 1:1 Technology district, which means that every student at Horizon, as well as every student in the P-H-M school district, has access to their own Chromeoook that they use every day in the classroom (kindergartners use iPads).
