School Hours, Drop-Off & Pickup

School Hours:

Our school day begins at 7:55 a.m. and ends at 2:20 p.m.

Using Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation Transportation is the safest way to transport your children.  Families choosing to drop off or pick up their students please follow these procedures listed below.

We also remind parents to remember these important safety measures: stop for students in the crosswalk and please refrain from cell phone use when dropping off and picking up.

Drop-Off Procedures:

  • Do not drop off students before 7:40. Supervision is available starting at 7:40.
  • Students may only exit the car on the curbside. If you need to rearrange booster seats to allow for this, please do so.
  • Pull as far forward as possible. Traffic assistants wearing safety vests will assist in keeping the line moving. Your child will be able to exit the car and walk to the front entrance safely from any point in the drop off line.  Do not stop directly in front of the main entry if you are directed to keep moving forward.
  • Right turns only onto Brick Road. In order to allow a steady flow of traffic, parents will NOT be able to turn LEFT onto Brick Road from 7:40 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. -2:40 p.m.

 

Pickup Procedures:

  • Use the west parking lot (the large lot on the west side of the building).
  • Families are asked not to arrive prior to 2:15 p.m. Loading of car riders will begin by 2:22 p.m.
  • Only curbside loading is permitted.
  • Please remain in your car to load students. If needed, one of our assistants will be present to help assist your student (this includes parking and going to the sidewalk to drop off or pick up your child). 
  • Families wishing to pick up their students from school, must use a car tag
    • Car tags are provided at the beginning of the school year to all students (returning students may use the car tags that were previously issued as a spare. Lost or additional car tags will be issued in the office with a possible fee)
    • Place your car tag on on your rear view mirror or in the window.  This will help us identify your child and have them ready for you as you move through the line. We will not put a child in a car without the car tag (if you do not have a car tag, you will be asked to park and come into the building to show us proper identification and sign out your student).
