Who We Are:

Prairie Vista Elementary School is a high-performing public elementary school in Granger, Indiana, serving grades K–5 as part of the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation, one of northern Indiana’s top-ranked school districts.

P-H-M ranks in the Top 4% of ILEARN student performance, and Penn High School’s graduation rate is 97.3%.

Prairie Vista’s third graders achieved an outstanding 98.9% IREAD pass rate in 2025, improving from 97.7% in 2024.

Out of Indiana public schools that passed both English Language Arts (ELA) and Math, Prairie Vista also ranks in the Top 10 in the state for the Spring 2025 ILEARN assessment, as released by the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE).

We are the Pumas and our colors are red and black. Prairie Vista Elementary School educates today’s child for tomorrow’s world by offering each student opportunities to achieve maximum potential for the future by developing self-directed and self-motivated individuals.

We are a 1:1 Technology district, which means that every student at Prairie Vista, as well as every student in the P-H-M school district, has access to their own Chromebook that they use every day in the classroom (kindergartners use iPads).

History

Prairie Vista Elementary was opened in 1989 and this state-of-the-art facility is located in a lovely, park-like setting.  The grounds feature soccer fields, tennis courts, baseball diamonds and playgrounds.
