Our School

Who We Are:

Prairie Vista Elementary School is an “A” rated K-5 elementary school part of the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation, where excellence in education is pursued and achieved at all levels. We are a community. Our students feel supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Prairie Vista has also earned the distinction of being ranked Indiana’s #3 for Public Elementary Schools by U.S. News & World Report (data is based on the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 school years). Click here to learn more.

We are the Pumas and our colors are red and black. Prairie Vista Elementary School educates today’s child for tomorrow’s world by offering each student opportunities to achieve maximum potential for the future by developing self-directed and self-motivated individuals. Our motto is Educating today’s child for tomorrow’s world, part of what makes that possible is by having, quite literally, some of the best teachers in the country!

Our staff of compassionate and engaged teachers receive ongoing professional development in IDOE state standards.

We are a 1:1 Technology district, which means that every student at Prairie Vista, as well as every student in the P-H-M school district, has access to their own Chromebook that they use every day in the classroom (kindergartners use iPads).
