Congratulations Prairie Vista community

Prairie Vista Elementary School has been nominated by the Indiana Department of Education to apply for the 2015 National Blue Ribbon School award. It is an honor to be nominated for this very prestigious award. Prairie Vista is recognized by the IDOE as an "exemplary high performing school" and is one of only eight in the state being nominated for the national honor.

School delays and closings

It is that time of year when school delays and closings are more likely to occur due to severe weather (ice, snow, fog, etc.). Please remember when severe weather delays or closes school parents will receive notification by email, text, and/or voice mail from P-H-M's SchoolMessenger service.

Kindergarten registration for 2015-2016 school year opens on January 20

Registration for kindergarten students for the 2015-2016 school year will begin at each P-H-M elementary school on Tuesday, January 20. This registration opportunity is for youngsters who live within the P-H-M district and who will be five years old on or before September 1. A parent or guardian must appear in person to register their child.

Learningsphere 2015


Each year at Prairie Vista, students are given the opportunity to participate in an academic fair called LEARNINGSPHERE. The students create either a science experiment project or a general research project that is displayed on a presentation board and presented to a judge for evaluation. The ultimate purpose of LEARNINGSPHERE is the joy found in discovering something new about a topic of interest to your child.

Prairie Vista rated an A school by the Indiana Department of Education

Prairie Vista has been rated an A school by the Indiana Department of Education. This grade reflects Prairie Vista's  most recent academic performance and is calculated based on data collected throughout each school year. The grade takes into account a variety of factors including student performance and student growth. Kids Club

Kids Club is a childcare program designed to provide children of working parents with childcare in a safe, home-like atmosphere. The program provides care for children in kindergarten through grade five. Kids Club members are able to choose from a variety of recreational, social and enrichment activities each day.
