School Items Return & Personal Items Pickup (June 1 & 2)

We are working to prepare your child/ren’s belongings for parents to pick up student items and to return school items starting on June 1st. While we would love to see you and say hello, the building is not open to the public.  Parents will be sent a link to sign up for a specific time to come to Prairie Vista on the dates designated below:
 

Monday, June 1st:

  • 8:00 - 10:00 a.m., Families with Last Names beginning with A, B
  • 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Families with Last Names beginning with C-G
  • 12:00 p.m.  - 2:00 p.m., Families with Last Names beginning with H-K

 

Tuesday, June 2nd:

  • 8:00 - 10:00 a.m., Families with Last Names beginning with L-N

  • 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Families with Last Names beginning with O-S

  • 12:00 p.m.  - 2:00 p.m., Families with Last Names beginning with T-Z

 

When arriving at­ Prairie Vista,  please follow these guidelines:

  • Please come in the semi-circle drive in the front of the building where the buses normally park and park along the curb. Please pull up as far as possible. (SEE PICTURE BELOW)

  • Please make a sign for your right side windshield window with the following information:

    • Your family’s last name in BIG, bold, dark lettering (You may also use your Prairie Vista car tag)

  • A Prairie Vista staff member will view the sign in your window, radio your name  to a staff member in the building who will collect your child/ren’s belongings and deliver the bag/s of belongings to a table on the sidewalk.

    • The staff member will let you know when your child’s items are on the table and then you will get out of the car and put any items that you are returning on the carts labeled “drop off.” 

    • You will then pick up your child/ren’s bag that will be placed on a table. Student names will be on the bag.

    • Please wear a mask and practice social distancing. The Prairie Vista staff will be wearing a mask and following the social distancing guidelines.

  • Items that have not been picked up by Friday, June 5th will be donated or discarded. Please contact the school office if you need to make alternate plans for your child's materials or if you feel your child has an item in the “Lost & Found.”

  • Please remain patient throughout this process and we will do our best to keep everyone safe and the car line moving smoothly.

 

Please return the following items:

  • Books checked out from the IMC, any school issued textbooks, or instructional materials borrowed from Prairie Vista (Please do not put these items in a bag).

  • Classroom items that students may have borrowed  from the teacher such as books from the class library or leveled readers (Please put these items in a bag labeled with your  child’s name  and  teacher’s name).

  • If your child will not be returning to Prairie Vista next year and borrowed a Chromebook and charger, those items will need to be returned. Please put them in a bag with your child’s name and teacher’s name.

  • Students that are returning to Prairie Vista, may keep the Chromebooks until next fall. 

 

The following items will be returned to your child/ren:

  • Items that were left in the classroom and/or coat areas will be put in bags and returned on the scheduled pick up days.
